Job description
The Mechanical Manager is responsible for overseeing, planning and coordinating activities related to the mechanical area, ensuring that projects are completed on time, on budget and to establish quality standards. He will be responsible for ensuring collaboration between all stakeholders, closely monitoring deadlines and acting as a mentor to maximize the efficiency of the mechanical team.
Main responsibilities
- Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing and sales teams to develop and put solutions into production, balancing resources to ensure the success of the entire organization
- Operational supervision of the various solutions proposed
- Draw up reports, specifications, quotations and calls for tender, in line with customer requirements
- Analyze problems and provide solutions in close collaboration with internal customers, using a variety of known and innovative methods and techniques, and carrying out comparative studies
- Develop, implement and adhere to production schedules for mechanical expertise
- Follow mechanical design according to the definition of technical specifications
- Ensure project deadlines and associated costs are met in relation to mechanical expertise
- Prepare internal work progress reports
- Manage resources, engineers and technicians related to his/her expertise for which he/she is responsible
- Mentor and motivate company resources
- Contribute to the technical documentation of projects
- Evaluate internal customer satisfaction and maintain close customer relations
- Participate in the commissioning of solutions developed
Desired skills
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec with a degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum of 7-10 years' relevant experience as a mechanical engineer, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Proven success in supervising all elements of the mechanical development cycle
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and with senior management
- Organized and able to manage priorities and demonstrate rigor in work execution
- Dynamic and entrepreneurial leader who is motivated to achieve objectives
- Very good command of the French language and good knowledge of the English language (oral and written), with strong oral and written communication skills.
