This morning, Systemex Automation had the honor of attending the Chemtec Coatings press conference alongside Jason Berube, Director at Chemtec Coatings, Christopher Skeete, Minister for the Economy, Minister Responsible for the Fight Against Racism, and Minister Responsible for the Laval Region, Annie Koutrakis, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jean-Philippe Ménard, First Vice-President, Regional Network and Innovation at Investissement Québec, and Kelsey Medeiros, Director at Systemex Automation.
The event highlighted the crucial role of automation in the current context, where new tariffs imposed by the U.S. make it more important than ever to strengthen the competitiveness of our manufacturing industry. Systemex Automation is proud to contribute to projects that focus on innovation to overcome these challenges and support local economic development.
With the construction of its new automated facility, Chemtec Coatings will open its doors in Laval in Q2 2025, with a $10M investment. This facility will integrate AI into its processes, increasing production by 500% with a fully automated manufacturing and packaging line.
We extend our thanks to Chemtec Coatings, our government partners, and Investissement Québec for their support and commitment to our industry. Together, we play a key role in the economic development of the region and in driving innovation within our sector.
